Digital Shelf Copy
The Brief
Coke was so happy with the digital shelf copy we did for a few of their brands that they entrusted my fellow copywriter and me to do the digital shelf copy for ALL of their brands. The copy for Fanta was my favorite to do because it was super playful and, dare I say, a tad odd.
They only had one requirement: the copy had to start with "Well, it's a..." and end with "thing." Everything in between was fair game.

Well, it’s a tropical pool party, flamingo float, delectable duo of pineapple and coconut… but wait the flamingo came to life now and took my sunglasses but i’ma let him keep them because they look better on him anyway and the whole squad seems to be enjoying this refreshingly cool party just like the taste of a caffeine-free Fanta Piña Colada soda thing.
Well, it’s a you crave to move, geared up and ready to go, going out at the crack of dawn, running to catch the sun, pushing to reach it before it beats you to the sky, pushing yourself to your limits, almost there, grinding to the mountains very tippy top seeing the views because trying something new is the only way to see something new sorta thing.
Well, it’s that low key night that turns into the highlight of the year + month + day + hour + minute. Make the most of every moment, don’t daydream daylive, daylove, love daily, make a daily plan to do the most, mostly for you and upgrade the ram on your metaphysical floppy drive and cruise down the information highway while you take another refreshing sip of caffeine free Fanta Strawberry soda thing.
Well, it’s a less is more, do what you can with what you got, make the night memorable with the minimal, celebrate the lack of occasion, the one man show on the road + couch surfing + life loving + in love with the limited + the complicated + the simple ,eventful nights laying under nature’s lights, needing less than the want for more, take a spin on the bottle of caffeine free sugar free Fanta Orange soda multiple times kind of thing.
Well, it’s a feeling of starting at the bottom, putting in the work, rising to top no apologies for your glow up, you showed up, you stunned them all, all you can do to give it your all, set new records, new high scores, new standards, making it standard to never settle, never settling for less than your worth you know your worth, you know you’re bold, as bold as a sip of caffeine free Fanta Pineapple soda thing.
Well, it’s a stand out, stand up, rise up, for what’s right, stay true to yourself and your passion, express yourself with your self-expression, free yourself to do what you want, when you want, how you want, with who you want, fizzle up never fizzle out, keep the attitude type of person while you sip a deliciouso caffeine free Fanta Grape soda thing.
Well, it’s a take a long ride on a back road, strapped in + wildin’ out + leaning into your wild side + embracing the future moving forward + never looking back till you have something worth looking back at, never being afraid of the road ahead or the road behind or the road you’re on right now, with a caffeine free Fanta Peach soda in the cupholder thing.
Well, it’s a you’re sitting on the basement couch with your friends + the lights are yellow the walls are wood paneling, it’s hot because the summer heat is seeping in from the outside and your mom refuses to turn on the AC, but someone does turn on the tunes playing songs that’ll hold these memories for a lifetime and you sing the words that you’ll never forget while sippin on a caffeine free Fanta Fruit Punch soda thing.
